Tipobiomimetika és technomorfizmus

International Design Conference

The Media and Design Institute, together with the Department of Visual Education and Art Theory at the Faculty of Visual Arts and Music at Eszterházy Károly Catholic University, warmly invites you to its conference titled Typobiomimetics and Technomorphism. The event will be conducted in English in the morning session and in Hungarian in the afternoon.

While biomimetics integrates structures, processes, and organizational principles observed in nature into design practice, technomorphism focuses on how digital tools, algorithms, and network systems shape changes in of fixed forms, but increasingly a dynamic medium whose strategies are governed by programming processes, generative procedures, and interactive technologies. Technomorphic thinking in contemporary design is based on the recognition that technology is not merely a tool, but also a shaping environment that opens up new aesthetic and conceptual possibilities and presents us with challenges.

The conference is being held in conjunction with the TYPOZONE Biennial and will provide context through presentations by experts in the field. Juxtaposing biomimetic and technomorphic approaches also provides an opportunity to examine how different yet corresponding models of nature and technology can contribute to the future development of typography and design in a broader sense.
